TOEIC® Listening Part 1: Photographs TOEIC® Listening Part 1: ภาพถ่าย

In Part 1 you look at a photograph, listen to four short statements, and choose the one that best describes what you see. The statements are spoken only; the written choices appear after you answer, so you have to rely on your ears. Wrong choices are typically built from a trap: the right noun with the wrong action, a word that sounds like an object in the picture, or a description of something that is not there. This section has 30 sets of 10 photographs.

All 30 sets use simple, everyday English at about A2 level, with clear photographs and short statements, so the sets differ by theme rather than by difficulty. Each set is built on a workplace or daily-life theme, so you can do them in order or pick the setting you want to practise, such as office and workplace (set 1), industrial and construction (set 11), or science laboratory (set 30).

How each set works

Practice tips

  • Every set has a topic line in the list below, and each set also has a video walkthrough on the set page.
  • Do the sets in order or pick a theme.
  • Name the people, objects, actions and locations in the photo before you listen, because the correct statement almost always uses those words.
  • Watch for the usual traps: the right noun with the wrong action, a word that sounds like an object in the picture, or a description of something that is not there.
  • All ten photos appear on one page, and you can switch to one photo at a time.

How to listen

  • Study the photo for a few seconds, then press Play all.
  • You can also press the speaker button of a single choice to replay it.
  • The statements are spoken only; the written choices appear after you answer.

How to check the answer

  • Choose (A) to (D), and the answer panel shows all four statements in English and Thai, the correct one, and an explanation of why each wrong choice fails.
  • You can also open the answer panel before answering.

How scoring works

  • A photo is scored when you choose an answer.
  • If you open the answer panel first, that photo is not scored.
  • The score summary appears once you have answered every photo.

Play all
